Do you love libraries? I do too and so do many of our West Boise neighbors. Last year Mark Salisbury and a group of citizens in West Boise started an initiative they call Citizens for a Library in West Boise. These neighbors did not sit back and complain that they lived in a library desert, rather thay took to the streets and started a movement! Talking with neighbors and citizens, they collected signatures for a petition requesting a library in West Boise, which they presented to the Boise City Council on July 11th.
The presentation went well and the group and over 1000 petition signers eagerly await having the City of Boise spread the library budget a bit more evenly when it comes to geography! Kudos to these West Boise neighbors who care about their community and are willing to work to make it happen!
