Many, including my opponent, believe it is not necessary to prevent non-citizens from voting in Idaho Elections. Not true! A big thank you to Senator Doug Okuniewicz who sponsored the constitutional amendment that will protect Idaho elections. HJR 005 passed and will go to the voters to decide. Wondering why this is necessary? Check out this article in NPR—it shows how municipalities in permissive states are allowing non-citizens to vote. Let’s make sure that policy stays where it belongs in NYC, DC, San Franciso, and Vermont. I’ll support secure Idaho elections open to all legal U.S. citizens.
