The other day I was visiting with my cousin and she said, “Codi, what’s the difference between you and your opponent? What makes him so bad?”

I said, “He’s not bad, he’s actually a really nice guy. He wants the same thing in Idaho that I do. He wants Idaho to be a great place. We just have different ways of going about it.”

My opponent is a Democrat and what that means is he may say sometimes that he’s a moderate but he votes 94% of the time with Ilana Rubel, the minority leader in the House of Representatives.

He votes Democrat.

The Democrat philosophy is generally that government is the solution to our problems and government will take care of things and government will tell you what to do and how to do it. I don’t believe that’s the right way.

I believe that our nation was set up as we the people. I believe we the people decide what’s best for us. We don’t need government solving every single problem and telling us what to do and how to do it.

In the end, I think both my opponent and I care about Idaho. I think my opponent’s a nice guy but he wants government to be a bigger part of your life and I want government to be a smaller part of your life.
